What is Edelweiss?
Edelweiss is a rare mountain flower that grows in Alpine environments. It’s only found at very high altitudes, between 1500 and 3000m, where it defies extreme environmental conditions, including strong winds, frost, and volatile temperatures. For centuries, this tiny flower has been widely used in folk medicine and in Alpine tradition, giving this flower to a loved one is the ultimate expression of dedication.
Why is Edelweiss good for skin?
Edelweiss produces its own antioxidant, called leontopodic acid. It is this antioxidant that allows the flower to protect itself from all those harsh environmental aggressors we mentioned, helping it to survive and thrive on the mountainside.
